I have always had mixed views of the works of Clarice Cliff.

I have always enjoyed her work when looked at as art, comparable to the Arts and Crafts artists Pugin, Ruskin and Morris. She is certainly an artistic peer of either Mackintosh or Voysey.

However, I have always railed against the idea of living with Cliffs work, on a day-to-day basis. I am not sure that, on a quiet sunday morning, when the fog has not quite lifted, that a bright orange tea-pot with luminescent blue flowers would be particularly good for the id.

However, there is one Cliff which I could live with, which is Cliffs Biarritz, which is often decorated far less enthusiatically then Cliffs Bizarre, which it should be noted was a shape rather than a decorative style.

I could very much live with Biarritz in white.
